Bubba and the Beach

I am so fortunate that Joe is able to be off during the week and spend one special day a week with his BUBBA! He surprises me everyday with our son! I knew he would be a good daddy, but he is just foolish! He checks up after me to make sure I do everything just so, he give him tons of kisses, takes him outside to explore, does the best swaddle wrap in the world, talks "baby" talk yes he really does, and the loves him like there is no tomorrow. I am so proud of him.........

with that said..... I came home the other day to find Reaves in jeans and a t-shirt. I said to Joe " Did you pick that outfit out or was that the first thing you saw in the closet?" He said " I picked it out, I don't like those onseies he wears." Who knew??? Reaves is 4 months old and he has never said a thing! Reaves is one lucky little boy to have such a great daddy!

I love my father as the stars - he's a bright shining example and a happy twinkling in my heart.  ~Terri Guillemets

We went to the beach for the weekend with Mom,Carla, and the kids. We had a great time! Lawson could not get enough of Reaves, he wanted to hold him every second. He walked around all weekend calling himself "Sauceson!" Langley and Leyton had a blast on the beach and at the pool! It was so nice to spend time with my mom and sister!~

Reaves had fun in the pool!

Beachin it!

Reaves turned 4 months old On September 2nd. He is now weighing in at 14 lbs and 9 oz So he has doubled his birth weight and is in the 50th percentile. He is 25 1/2 inches long. It blows my mind that he has grown 4 1/2 inches in just 4 short months. So he is 75th percentile in length. He is growing like a weed! I really could just eat his face!

You are everything I hoped for and more! Reaves Makinson Cataliotti!
I really could eat you with a spoon!

Sweet Lullabies

So since Reaves was born I've been rocking him at night and singing " Hush little baby don't say a word, mama's gonna buy you a mocking bird, and if that mocking bird don't sing, mama's gonna buy you a diamond ring, and if that diamond ring don't shine mama's gonna buy you a PORCUPINE!"HA HA because I totally don't know the words to the whole song. So I decided to look up lyrics I'm happy to report that I'm now singing.........

Hush, Little Baby

Hush, little baby, don't say a word.
Papa's gonna buy you a mockingbird
And if that mockingbird won't sing,
Papa's gonna buy you a diamond ring

And if that diamond ring turns brass,
Papa's gonna buy you a looking glass

And if that looking glass gets broke,
Papa's gonna buy you a billy goat

And if that billy goat won't pull,
Papa's gonna buy you a cart and bull

And if that cart and bull fall down,
You'll still be the sweetest little baby in town

Not that Reaves even knows what in the heck I'm singing, it's nice to sing the song the whole way through. Because when he gets older he is gonna beg me not to sing!!!!!! I can't carry a tune!

Somewhere along the way all the mama's that are actually  up trying to get their babies asleep singing this song changed Papa to Mama!!!!

Reaves has discovered his feet. He favors his right hand and his right foot! He can't get enough of it!

He also loves bath time more than ever!!!

Oh and Sophie the giraffe is his new best friend!
I think he is gonna cut teeth early! Uh oh!

Reaves: week fifteen

On Monday Reaves rolled all the way over from back to stomach! I wasn't at home to see it. It happened while I was at work. Granny told me all about it and I was so proud! It truly is the little things in life that add up to be the big things!!!!

He gets so excited on his floor mat! His eyes get so BIG looking at his mobile and he kicks, kicks kicks!

On Friday we headed down to spend the weekend in Wilmington with our good friends Carrie Dale and Jim. We went to dinner at K38 one of the best Mexican restaurants ever! Saturday we did a little shopping and later that night went to the Yacht club to grill out. It was such a good time. I rocked Reaves in the rocking chair while overlooking the ocean until he fell asleep in my arms. It was a great way to spend a Saturday night!

Every single person we see says how much Reaves looks like Joe. The truth be known he does, and I am so glad because Joe was one of the cutest babies I've ever seen. But just to let you know he laughs and coos all the time so I think he has my personality! ha

Me and the Boys!

Thanks Carrie Dale and Jim Bo for a great weekend! We will be back!!!!
Love y'all!

Reaves: week fourteen

Our Reavesy boy, Little Joe Joe, Buddy, Boo Boo, Bubba, turned 3 months old on Tuesday!

I have loved and lauged more in the last three months than I feel like I have in my entire life!
You are my sunshine, my breath of fresh air, my Reavesy Boy!

Reaves:week thirteen

Our dear friend Christine and her twin boys came to Smithfield for a day on there way down from Maryland! Jack and Charlie will be 3 in September! They gave me a little taste of what it's going to be like with Reaves in a few years!

Jack wants to see your car! Everybody that came over "which one is your car?" As soon as he wakes up and right before he goes to bed and all in between he is interested in cars. He can read Jeep, VW, etc. Christine says he wanted a Mercedes at one time. Forget matchbox cars he wants the real thing! When they were leaving he was giving his kisses to all of us and then he bent down and kissed my car! I about fell over! After he had literally talked about cars for 24 hours he bent down and gave my license plate a smack!

Charlie is all about dinosaurs :) He knows all about them. For Jack its cars for Charlie it's dinosaurs. He loves his mommy and looks just like her too! He loves his cartoons and wanted to play outside constantly! He also loves to stand on dressers and jump on air mattresses! ha ha We had so much fun!

                                Christine loving on Reaves!

On Saturday we headed to Wilmington for the night to stay with Claire and Will for Meghan's 30th birthday pig pickin! We had a great time celebrating with the birthday girl and friends! There new house is just beautiful with a HUGE yard!

Happy Happy 30th Meghan!
