Reavesy Boy is 6 months old!

My granddaddy Hesley used to say "Time waits for no man!" Now I know what he meant!!!! The last 6 months have flown faster than ever before and rank as the best 6 months of my life to date. Sometimes I get a little sad at how fast he is growing.....that he doesn't fit into his little elephant pj's anymore and that we need to put his infant seat up in the attic because he has outgrown it with his 26 1/2 inches long self.

But then I'm quickly reminded of all the stages and ages to come! I really love this age his personality is really starting to shine!!!!! He yells for my attention....sometimes so long that his face turns red! He laughs out loud.....I mean really laughs the belly laugh!

These last 6 months have also taught me a lot about life. I find myself trying to sweat the small stuff a little less. I mean when I walk in the door and I see Reaves grin ear to ear just at the sight of me his unconditional love reminds me of what life is really all about!

are we about done here?

not until I get a few pictures with the Mohawk!

Happy 1/2 birthday Reaves Makinson Cataliotti!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and has been since I was little! I love singing witches brew each year with my students, going to the pumpkin patch,trick-or treating, carving pumpkins, roasting pumpkin seeds, eating candy corn, and dressing up!

However this Halloween was the best by far. Even on this cold and rainy night. Joe made a pot of homeade chili and roasted pumpkin seeds! I dressed Reaves up in his cow costume and passed out candy. Joe carved a pumpkin so that we could take pictures of our little pumpkin in a pumpkin! We had so much fun!!!!
He does love his mummy! He just lights up when I walk in a room and seems to be getting more attached to me each day! It's the sweetest thing!

Pumpkin Head

I have been waiting for 6 months to get this picture. My sister-in-law Jackie did this with her first child and I just thought it was the cutest!

Happy 1st Halloween!

He was trying to eat the pumpkin as he does everything! Anything and everything goes in his mouth these days!

5 Months of Joy!

Definition of Joy: Intense and especially ecstatic or exultant happiness

Our baby boy turned 5 months old on Sunday! The only way I can even attempt to describe how I have felt since he was born on May 2, 2011 is to say I am filled with absolute joy. Not that I don't have "those" days anymore because believe me I do! But.........that little bundle of joy that weighs about 17 pounds who thinks I hung the moon makes me forget about all those little things that don't really matter. He is already teaching me more than I can ever hope to teach him and he can't even talk yet! ha ha

"In thy presence is fullness of joy."
Psalms 16:11

"When we are centered in joy, we attain our wisdom."
Marianne Williamson

"Joy is a sustained sense of well-being and internal peace - a connection to what matters."
Oprah

"True joy is that which gives us more energy
and makes us feel more alive."
                Robert Puryear

RC Cola and a Moon Pie

My dear friend Amber is getting married in October so two weekends ago we took a little girls trip to AB! We started the day Saturday with a champagne brunch and lingerie shower and ended the day dancing the night away at
Jack's! Fun Times!!!!!

Me and Ashley

While I was away for the day and Joe was working Reaves stayed with Granny and Grandpa aka Joe's Parents. Now let me just tell you Joe's dad is from the Bronx and I am from Smithfield, NC. So quite the cultural gap.....he has always teased me with my southern accent and said "Hey you wanna R.C. Cola and a Moon Pie?" If he said it one time then he said it 1,000! I always laugh it off......But guess what? Reaves' initials are RC so the whole weekend he called Reaves R.C. Cola! He just got a kick out of that as you can imagine! I'm proud of my southern roots and just for the record I've never even eaten a moon pie, but I think my dad's had enough for the both of us!

             and a !!!!!!!!!!

A little article about this combo!

The Moon Pie and R.C. Cola combination has held fast in our southern state over the decades. Every southerner has fond memories of the Moon Pie and RC Cola. The occasional afternoon walk to the local store to retrieve a Moon Pie and an R.C.Cola with a parent was commonplace. Some of the most important parental conversations took place during the enjoyment of this delightful combination. The hurried traveler while stopping for a gas fill up, would regularly purchase a R.C. Cola and Moon Pie to tie him or her over, might I add that a hurried stop in Tennessee is equivalent to about 20 minutes or so.

We venture to say that every store in Nashville that carries food still has a Moon Pie and R.C. Cola within it's walls, from the local grocery store to gas stations to dollar stores. Not only have the R.C. Cola and Moon Pie survived and flourished throughout the south, their popularity is still growing globally. You can now order these treats anytime, via the Internet, to anywhere in the world, although it is best to order during the winter months.

Just in case you didn't know, R.C. Cola was an innovator in many areas. They were the first to introduce their beverage in an all aluminum can, the first to make a low calorie diet cola (Diet Rite) and the first cola manufacturer to make a caffeine free Soda (R.C. 100).

He also thinks he looks like the etrade baby. So here's the link you decide for yourself!

Granny's Birthday

Happy Birthday Granny!

My mother in law Marilyn's birthday is on September 11th so we celebrated with family at my mom's house. We had so much fun!!!

Marilyn drives every Sunday for two hours to stay with us for the night and to keep Reaves each Monday. Although I know she LOVES every minute with Reaves that drive has to get old. We are so blessed to have her and my mother keep Reaves for us. I know this year will be a one to remember for Granny and we truly could never repay you!
